Connecting your portable speaker to whatever device will provide a better sound experience, with louder volume and more bass. Portable speakers usually sound better because they are larger in size and speakers that fit into small smartphones and mp3 players are not that good. Sometimes with portable speakers, you can run into more problems. A common problem is the crackling you get when sound is playing. Sometimes this can be caused by batteries that are weak, the amp will not have enough volts to power the speakers, resulting in crackling to be heard when the bass drops. If you have changed the batteries and your portable speakers are still making a crackling sound, then sometimes the headphone jack on your device is dirty. Dust particles can cause crackles to appear because it interferes with the signal going to the small amp inside the portable speakers.
1) Unplug your portable speakers the aux
headphone socket on your device and power it off.
2) Get a Q tip or also known as a cotton
bud.
3) Twist one end of the cotton side and pull it
so it becomes fluffy.
4) Place the fluffy end into the headphone jack
that you want to clean. Twist it around a few times and push it in and out,
keep repeating this a couple of times. This will remove any dirt or dust inside
the headphone jack that could cause cracking.
5) Replug your portable speakers back into the
device you have just cleaned to see if the cracking is gone. If it is still
apparent, then the jack itself might be faulty, so try it another device as it
might need resoldering back on. If its not that the actual 3.5mm plug could be
the issue, the small wires inside could be broken due to age.
